I wanted to start the tutorials with Elhiem's Private Contractor Figures.
Taking pictures of these miniatures is a challenge for me and so is learning how to use proper lighting so please bare with me.
These are the paints that I used for this figure:
Pants-Vallejo Dark Sand
Helmet- VallejoReflective Green
Shirt Top-Vallejo Dark Green
Webbing-Vallejo Russian Uniform
I started off with cleaning and priming the figure with a Floquil brown.
I then painted the base colors of the figure

I then washed the entire figure with Raw Umber.

Starting to work with indivudual folds and shadows on the pants, I take one part Dark Sand and one part Raw Umber with two to three parts water. I lightly start layering in the shadows and the folds of the figure.
One thing you will notice when painting an Elhiem figure is the subtle folds and bends on the fabric. When painting in layers you can really pick up the tremendous detail that has been put into these figures. These are not just miniatures but little pieces of art.

A second layering of shadow was applied to the pants. This time I used one part Dark Sand, Two parts Raw Umber and three to four drops of water

Next was the highlighting of the pants. I used one part Dark Sand, one part white and three to four drops of water

Next was the second highlight of the pants. Using one part Dark Sand, Two parts white and three to four drops of water

Third highlight of pants were applied using one part Dark Sand, Three parts white and three to four drops of water

Still practicing with taking good pictures!
