US Army for 8 years stationed at Fort Ord, 5/21 IN(L), Fort Lewis, 1/9 IN(L), and Fort Bragg, 82nd SSB. Also a short time with Washington Station National Guard both drills and ADSW. I went in as a supply clerk (76Y, later 92Y) but due to shortages (we went to the LA riots with 2 squad platoons) I spent time playing 11C as well. I was in the NG just under 2 years and went back in as 75F which is basically a computer weenie, SIDPERS 3 if anyone remembers that personnel system. At least it gave me a cool job title, Dragonmaster, which was basically UNIX system administrator... Now I work as a DOD civilian.

just under 12 years British army, about 8 years in the Coldstream Guards, then last 4 in the Royal Irish in Belfast, were i was made redunent due to every thing ending here in Ulster, since leaving have done a few contracts out in iraq with PSD and Convoys

I had 6 years full time service in the Royal Australian Airforce in the Medical Branch between 1986 and 1992.

Served 11 years in the Australian Regular Army as a signaller from 1984 - 95. 3 of those years were with the Commando Regiment from 1990 to 1993.

I wanted to join up in '88, wanted to be a medic but my Old Man talked me out of it.
Went to uni and became a dentist instead. I graduated in '93.
With the help of the Royal British Legion I look after veterans and I see the Army wifes and kids of our local regiment (if they haven't got access to NHS dental care otherwise) since.

Make no mistake, we all owe you who have served/ are serving big time.

My youngest daughter is with the Sea Scouts and wants to join the Royal Navy when she's old enough

10 years as 11B infantry. on my 4th deployment now. back home iv been a LEO for 3 years.

Just finished 1 year service as a conscript Corporal in the Norwegian Army, Arctic Ranger regiment (now closed down :/ ). One amazing year, going to enlist after christmas, unless a position comes up earlier.

Worked with some Norwegian Rangers a few years ago, up North, they introduced me to the Tobacco like a tea bag They all had one behind their bottom lips on the go,so to speak.

If your in, stay in guys cause these are the best days of your life. I'm retired now (early retirement) after 30 years of service and damn, I miss it every day. It may sound really weird but I really wish every single day that I was in a combat zone leading a platoon of men. I guess old soldiers are not meant to fade away.. lol. Those of you who are over there will know what I mean.
