I chose 20mm because it's small enough to save space and money - but large enough that you can actually tell the figures apart at gaming distances.
Plus it's an ideal scale for either individual mounting or on group bases.
Liberation Minis makes just about everything you could want, and there are plenty of diecast vehicles around.

Its the pre-paints that make 20mm irresistable to me. Normally I'm a 15mm guy.

I do 1:72/20mm (partly as an excuse to buy the pre-painted vehicles...  )

20mm easier to get vehicles and buildings. Sill use 15mm measurements

40mm for me....perfect period for the scale!....I have Taliban and Brits from HLBS....will post some piccies when they are all done....

Moving to 15mm for ease of painting and larger battlefields. Will soon have to part with all the 28mm stuff to allow for more 15mm.

I haven't played yet, but for my first game i'll try :
- 20mm using wwii miniatures
- 6mm using sci-fi liniatures
simply because i have that in my stock

Awaiting the sci-fi extension i choose to play with my stargrunt 15mm minis from GZG using some OUDF for the regular and my big set of Kravaks for the insurgents...

I use 15mm because you can find a lot of building with correct price.
But for Ambush Z, il will use 25mm
