I'll be doing a variation on the "Caravana" scenario in the new Bush Wars scenario book at Advance the Colors in Springfield, OH September 14-16. But, keeping with my series of "Russians Invade Former Soviet Republic (FSR)" convention scenarions lately, the Cubans will become Russians, and the FALA/UNITA boys will become FSR troops. Same terrain (except it'll be in southeast Europe or central Asia), infantry, and civilian trucks as the scanerio, but the Russian's AFVs will be BMD4s (in place of the BTR52s), BTR90's (in place of the gun trucks), and a ZSU23-4 in place of the AA truck. Since the scenario notes discuss the use of minefields by FALA/UNITA, I'll give the FSR troops a couple of small minefields.

I don't know the exact date/time yet, but when I do, I'll post it here. Should be fun. Come one, come all......

Well, we're going to have at least 2 FoF games at Advance the Colors this year (September 14-16 at the Clark County Historical Center in Springfield, OH). They are:

Friday, September 14, at 7pm: Tom Oxley (thomaso827 here on the forum) will run an Iraq-Kuwait scenario, adapted from the "On the Outskirts of Some German Town" scenario in the main Force on Force rulebook.

Saturday, September 15, at 9am: I will run a modern "what-if" Russians vs. former Soviet republic scenario, adapted from the "Caravana" scenario in the Bush Wars scenario book.

That's what we have so far. Come one, come all......

Now I have a reason to try and attend ATC, Friday after work. I won't be available for the rest of the convention, however.

I'll be running my game on both days. Switching out my Saturday Antietam Game for another go at my Kuwaiti Town scenario. And yes, indeed, micro scale. Had it set up and played solitair on Saturday. Outside of my normal (aka LOUSY) die rolls, it works very well. I've got a pic of the setup but the file size is too large to post here. I'll see what I can do about putting it on somewhere I can share it from.

I had a great time with the two Kuwait games. 3 experienced players on Friday with one new player, and all enjoyed it as much as I did running it. Kuwaiti win with no surviving Iraqi vehicles to leave the table. Saturday saw 3 players who had never seen the rules before and one who had played in Jim's game earlier and had the rules. Another good game, another Kuwaiti win with only the Iraqi armored car getting away. Failed to get my camera out while running things, but Ray Garbee, who had played on Friday, was back with a camera on Saturday and I hope to borrow some of his pictures to share.

Well done, Tom.

I had 6 gamers, only 2 of whom had any experience with FoF. All admitted to a good time and got into the spiriit of the game.

The Former Soviet republic (FSR) troops won, primarilly because their CO/mortar FO was "Dick Dead-eye" in taking out 4 of the 6 supply tucks - although all the FSR infantry sections were wiped out by the Russian motor infantry platoon.

Film at 11 (maybe)......
