Just a heads up for our Aussie members. There will be a demo held of FoF on the Sat and Sun (1st and 2nd Oct) organised by myself and Mav. We will also try to hold TW as well but that will depend on the number of tables we can get.

The con will be held at the Sylvania Community Centre.

Further details shall be posted as I get them.

Best of luck for the demo at MOAB. MOAB was one of my favorite competitions when I was living in Australia.

It's a bit far to go over for a weekend from London.

I have contacted the organiser and he has informed me that unfortunately you were too late with your application. The free tickets have already been taken ;)

Sorry :D

Thanks for the 'best wishes' will probably need it. Will be our first BIG demo dispaly.

Have to agree, that and Cancon would be the two best cons on the east coast of Aus...

Well Mav and I have just finished up with our demo games at the con.

We ran a scenario from Vietnam using Australians, Main Force VC and Local Force guerillas. In addition we ran a small scenario for Tomorrow's War as well, with the human forces holding off a small Alien invasion force.

It would seem that our efforts were well recieved - the retailers informed us that because of our efforts their sales were excellant. One retailer not only sold out his entire stock of Force on Force rules but his stock of Ambush Valley as well and had to return to his store between the days to restock.

Our demo was well recieved by visitors too, who stopped and either watched a game in progress or if we were lucky joined in. Both Mav and I spoke with several people during the con who after leaving our table went straight to a retailer and purchased the rules.

Many questions were answered about the game and generally the game itself was well liked by those that had a go!

Over the two days we estimated to have around 70 odd people stop and play or stop and chat about the rules. In fact our game seemed so popular that we had other retailers dropping their stock off near our table asking us to sell their stuff too.

Several game stores and gaming clubs in Sydney have approached Mav and I to run several more demo events over the next 6-8 weeks as well..... :D

Just to add a little about TW. The book looks and reads very well. There were a lot of comments about how great a job has been done in producing the rulebook and the pictures etc inside are awesome.

Everyone who played a demo loved the game and as one of the local Osprey dealers had copies of TW for sale at the con, all copies sold out on the first day.

Off to rest the voice now as it is a little dusty after two days of talking and playing games of FoF and TW.

The Vietnam scenario that Pronto put together ran very smoothly and the Aussies did get a win in against the Commuist forces. The Eureka minis he has painted look awesome, seeingbthem has now started me in collecting 28mm instead of 15mm in some cases.

It also does look like Pronto and I will be busy helping some of the local gaming stores with demos over the next 6 to 8 weeks as a start.

Cheers

Mav

Dropped into MOAB on the Saturday to check it out (married man - could only get 'day release' and that included travel time).
Didn't have time to play, but did watch a bit and have a small chat with one of you guys - AND I picked up a copy of the rulebook (nothing against pdfs, but I prefer to read a book. Something to do with the smell of inks or something).

I will post my pics here if you like (when I get them off the camera).

Looking forward to teaching my clubmates the game.
