Shawn has given me clearance to share what the two demo games will be at Historicon this year... First, we'll be running a greatly expanded version of Encounter at the Yehudia Road from the main rule book. Imagine a swarm of Syrian T-62s assaulting Israeli Centurion Sho'ts positioned on the slopes of the Golan Heights. The game will be on a 4' x 8' board in 15mm, so you can figure out just how many vehicles we're putting out. Thanks to Geoff at QRF for supporting this demo. Second, we'll be running a scenario from the new Operation Enduring Freedom book, Bala Baluk Ambush , based on an actual encounter between USMC forces and the Taliban in Farah Province, November, 2008. This game will be in 20mm and feature miniatures furnished by our friends at Elhiem, S&S Models and some Shawn Carpenter original buildings! A tip of the hat to my assistants in building the terrain and painting the miniatures (all works in progress at the moment): Skip Peterson (accomplished painter and owner of http://www.legends-in-time.com), Jon Walters (active play tester in my group and Iraq/Afghanistan veteran) and Will Roots (my college-bound son who is turning into quite the painter). We are really looking forward to running these games for you and expanding the modern wargaming offerings at Historicon this year.

Jim, I am running my version of your second scenario at Nashcon over Memorial Day weekend. Send me a PM if you want to compare notes. See my game "Proving them Wrong" During session 5 in the PEL. http://hmgs-midsouth.org/nashcon/nashco ... ents-list/

Sounds fun. For the last bunch of years it seems like I've always had a reenactment the conflicted with Historicon. This year, I'm skipping the reenactment to spend time ogling minis.

Jim:
I'll be willing to help on the demos if needed! This year I'll be there for the duration, so I'm pretty much available all weekend.

OldLTC: We may just take you up on your offer. Contrary to popular belief, I do need the occasional bathroom break and visit to purchase more miniatures

We will gladly put any Pointmen who can attend to work! And just as gladly let AAG fans lend a hand or push some miniatures around the table! We hope to get to meet a LOT of you at Historicon!

Dang! I can't get a room!!! I was "ok" with not going...until Huzzah. I had sooo much fun there that I'm dying to go to H-Con (not to mention the opportunity to meet the AAG stars!)
I'll have to keep trying. However, I won't be running any game on my own this time.

- Jim Try the Holiday Inn by King of Prussia mall. I got in there no problem at the last minute last year. Good Luck!

If anyone else is running a game at Historicon using our rules shoot me a PM. We can arrange something for you. (Like keeping Shawn away so he doesn't drone on when people are trying to play!)

Just looked at the vendor list for Historicon, and AAG isn't listed. Will you guys be at the Osprey booth? In true Casey Anthony trial fashion, I'll likely be camping out at the entrance so I can get a shot at a bag!

All, I plan on going to Historicon all of Saturday through Sunday afternoon for the sole purpose of AAG. I will be bringing my rules, my minis, my terrain, etc. I hope to get a couple pick up games in so I can clear out all of my gameplay questions with the pros. If you see this on a tabletop somewhere, you'll know its me! http://www.polymythic.com/2010/08/minia ... g-terrain/Looking forward to meeting anyone there! Steve
