Evening All!

We've kept these puppies under our hat for a while, but now they are just about to roll out and it's time for our traditional 'early bird' Ambush Alley preview!

Modern British Infantry (28mm). Four packs initially, with more on the way very soon (we pushed to get these into production in time for the Salute! show next weekend).

Wearing the latest kit, these come with a variety of seperate heads.

And here's a little suprise. We've done a small joint project with the guys at Osprey Publishing, and the result is a special edition figure only available from Osprey and Empress Miniatures. It was produced to celebrate the launch of the all new FoF and 'Road to Baghdad' books, and will be given away free to people who buy both books from Osprey or us at the Salute! show (and one or two other events throughout the year).

It will only be available in very limited numbers for the time being, but Empress will make the deal available directly from us soon too.

He is dressed in his full Crye outfit, and is a partner to our currently available Delta/SpecOps pack.

Bloody nice figs! (did I get that right? :))

Now, I just need to cancel my Amazon order and fly over for Salute so I can get the free figure! 8)

I am going to have to paint REALLY quickly so I can make room for these Brits.

Any "hints" on what the other packs will be?

Cheers,

- Jim

Let's just hope the other packs will include more "shooty" poses. Also would like to see head options with hats instead of helmets so we can have instant SAS in body armor. :D

The SAS don't use the SA80A2 mate. Nor do they use Osprey armour.

PS- lovely figures Keith by the way 8)

So they won't be SAS...they could be blokes in "soft cover".

One or three of the books that I've read about the Brits in Iraq and A-stan state that they tried to go without helmets whenever possible...b/c it was less threatening (and helped with the "hearts and minds" stuff).

I know that I'd like the option...as well as the option of having them all wit the same helmet covering. 8)

That brings up an interesting question...what do the SAS use? M4's?

Cheers,

- Jim

Hi Jim,

Diemaco C8SFW (L119A1) and the HK416 (a modified HK416C was recently built for UKSF however it wasnít adopted).

They tend to wear the hard hats when on direct action stuff though. They don't wear the Mk7 helmet either :? but a Gentex model I believe.

Sorry to be so bloody contrary!

You're not contrary...you're stating facts. Thanks for the info.

Now, the SAS _are_ contrary! Of course, if they weren't...they wouldn't be "special"!

So for those of us that were unlucky to attend SALUTE, can you tell us if these will be available in the online store sometime this week?
