Hi all,

I am just getting started with FoF and am looking for cheap but decent terrain and scenery for my games. I have already bought several dozen 20mm figures from Elhiem Miniatures and need some terrain to match. I am also not averse to scratch building it if you can recommend any sites with tips on that.

I have just found this site, and although they don't do 20mm terrain, they do do 15mm, which is pretty close. What's more, they seem quite reasonably priced and are in the UK (as I am), so postage should not be too much. My figures are British Infantry and Taliban, so I'm looking for terrain which is passably Afghan in look.

Has anyone used 20mm figures with these 15mm desert/adobe buildings and wall sets? Will they look too small or won't it really be noticeable?

Cheers.

If you want cheap get the GameCraft stuff http://store.gcmshop.com/category/30-20mm.aspx
If you want middle east stuff then go for the mdf series stuff http://store.gcmshop.com/category/115-2 ... eries.aspx
I highly recommend it.

IIRC, when we saw K&K terrain at a show, a friend and I agreed it looked a bit small even for our 15mm figures - it would be even worse for 20s. I recall being dismayed as the K&K stuff looks great.

That's purely based on our opinions and our figure collections, though. I'd get some more feedback rather than take my word for it.

Hi!

I agree that the Kerr & King 15mm buildings are a bit on the small side. Whllst they work fine with most 15mm figures, they will be far too small for 20mm in my opinion. The JR Miniatures buildings should work okay and I suggest that you also take a look at Fieldworks who make a couple of large 15mm Arab buildings, as well as 20mm, I believe.

I have taken two quick photos of one of my K and K buildings with a 15mm Peter Pig Marine and 20mm plastic Caesar Mini figure for comparison. Hopefully, you can see the difference. Unfortunately, my digital camera is a bit old! If i remember correctly, the adobe itself is a medium size one with one of their additional garden wall add-ons. The other bits I added myself. K and K models are very easy to paint and they do take paint well.

Yes, I can see that 20mm looks too big against those buildings, which is a pity. Thanks everyone for your replies.
