Nearly done with the 28mm Empress modern British blokes I picked up at Salute. I generally find once I think I've finished and taken some pictures, that I spot something I missed. So I thought I'd take some prior to finishing that way I'll spot things sooner . . . that's the theory anyway.

Lovely stuff! Thanks for posting those. Really well done, and the miniatures are tops.

Nice Ash! I just got a bunch of these guys, now I have everything I need (we're doing Skirmish Sangin), it's time to paint - what colours are you using for MTP?

Also, for the downed helo crew, is there much variety in their kit? Could that vest not be camo?

WTF - They look photo-realistic! MTP / Multicam is one of the most difficult patterns around, and you just nailed it perfectly on those minis, both the colors and the pattern. I´m speechless.

You know you´ll have to do a tutorial sooner or later? ;)

Keep the great stuff coming, this is awesome!

Cheers chaps, they are not quite done yet; faces need tarting up & the weapons and boots are just blocked in. I tried to break up the MTP with an attempt at COYOTE TAN for the back packs; I also tried the PECOC Hybrid cam on the ginger pilots grab bag, but it's so small it's hard to see. One of the blokes with a minimi got a US six colour desert net on his helmet, that's about it.

I'm not sure I'd be any good at a tutorial as I just sort of make it up as I go along, but I did remember to take a few snaps as I went along so I can upload those and post them if you want.

Please point out if you see anything that looks wrong or daft. All C&C welcome.

I think these look a bit better than the first group, I used this as a guide;

Image

Colours used were all Vallejo (apart from the primer which was Halford's matt black);
Dark sand, Russian uniform, English uniform, Khaki, Military green, German cam.black/brown & Buff.
+ skin tones; Flat flesh & Pale flesh.

Quite an inspiration, Sir!
