Hey guys, I am going to be building the board and terrain for the Road to Baghdad's scenario: The Alamo. as kinda of a tool for keeping with it i am going to be posting my progress here. I am hoping to get tips and suggestions as i go as this is going to be my third game board i have every built. My previous boards was a 6x4' board for 40k made out of plywood and covered with sand and painted gray. Another board for the Road to Baghdad's scenario: Umm Qasr(2x2') which i rushed just so i can play and didn't really bother painting or basing, the building are barely glued together...
I am building the board and terrain to a 20mm scale using mostly foamboard. As of right now i have just complete the board, Which is 2x2'. My current concern is that with the Umm Qasr board is also at 2x2 which felt out of scale and felt very cramped, to the point where my wife and I felt as we couldn't really maneuver either force very much. Which may be the point but would any of you guys feel as though bring the scale up to lets say ether a 2.5x2.5' or 3x3' resolve this or am i just over thinking this?

If you doing it 20mm go ahead and make 4x4 if you need to . Just use our maps as guides and make the adjustments you need to for the board size...all we really care about is that you have lots of fun ....and keep us posted ........Mikey
