I'm considering purchasing a hobby drill/grinder/multitool, such as a Dremel tool. I do a little bit of scenery building and some figure conversion work. Does anyone have any thoughts on which brand or model is best for general hobby work such as this? Any thoughts would be helpful; thanks!

u can't go wrong with a Dremel .. my first one burnt out after 6 months ... they replaced it without an argument ... the replacement has lasted me over 8 years .

Ditto on the Dremel. I also strongly suggest you get the cordless version. Over the years before purchasing a cordless, I have knocked numerous things off my work table with the cord. :)

if u are in the UK , the Dremel in ARGOS was by far the cheapest option .

I'm in Australia, but Dremel tools are certainly available here. Thank you, I'll have a look!
