Well I had a huge turn out for a game that I set up. This was my first time running a game for others and my 5th game in total. I purchased the AA rules and Day of the Ranger at Spring Recruits in Leeís Summit, Mo.

So here is the lay-out. We used 28mm figures on an 8í x 6í table full of intact buildings (with interiors) and several ruins. All figures and terrain were painted to a great standard. There were two downed helicopters each with 3 crew members placed for objectives. Sorry I forgot my camera.

The allied side used 6 fire teams (FT), and several insurgents. There were 10 people playing 3 of which were under 16 years old. We used 8 hotspots and no fog of war cards or vehicles. The hotspots were placed by the insurgents. Approximately 20 insurgents were placed on the board prior to the alliedís deployment.

Amazingly enough the game went off with out any problems. There was so much going on there is no way I could give a full detailed report. Do to the number of allied players we rolled twice on the reinforcement charts instead of the normal one roll. But by the 3rd turn several insurgents had been taken out and the allied side suffered on causality.

I am guessing the game took around 10 turns ending with the allied heading off the table with all pilots in tow. 2 fire teams lost 3 members as causalities and there were no insurgents left on the board.

Everyone had a great game and I received praise for the smoothness. One of the players said that this was the best miniature game he had ever played. A few others were hunting online for the rules and figures. I told them that after I get the FoF book we can look forward to playing that game in 15mm. Next time I will bring my camera and post a few pics.

Very cool, Dan! I think Kansas City has become a hot-bed of Ambush Alley and Ambush Z players after Spring Recruits - it's nice to see you guys out spreading the word about the game! We're all tickled to death that you think enough of our game to share it with others!

Sounds like it was a blast, too! I think one of the signs that an AA game, especially a big AA game like you were playing, is going well is when things get so hectic and chaotic that it's hard to describe what went on! I think it's at moments like that the game comes closest to evoking modern urban combat with insurgents the way we intended.

Good luck on your next game and be sure to bring your camera crew! ;)
