We really want to include our customers in helping determine what products should be released next - after all, if we're making what you want, the chances are better that you'll buy what we make!

So, after we release Day of the Ranger, would you prefer our next release to be a scenario pack, perhaps centering on action in Fallujah or Afghanistan, or would you prefer to see a more straightforward rules expansion, perhaps covering things like mixed force engagements or force on force engagements (Regulars & Insurgents vs. Regulars or Regulars vs Regulars)?

Feel free to share suggestions for what you'd specifically like to see along with your vote!

Greetings

Personally I think some Fallujah scenarios. I ordered a couple of QRF vehicles the other day and want to get value out of them :-)

Regards

Edward

Well, that's what I'm asking you! ;)

Would you rather see the force on force/zombie rules parceled out as rules included with a scenario pack, or would you rather see complete rule-books focused on a specific type of game - for instance, a "master" Ambush Alley game that had all the rules for reg v reg, rev v ins, ins v ins, reg & ins v reg, etc., and a rule & setting book for zombie fighting.

I'm trying to determine the best way to expand the line to meet the desires of the players in a way that doesn't make them feel like I'm just trying to wring an extra dime out of them.

Shawn,
Definitely scenarios. How about some drawn from books/movies? You'vr got "Blackhawk Down", "The Kingdom", "The Long Road Home", etc.

Okay, I will. What about mixes of scenarios and rules. Rules that go with the scenarios that you're peddling. Or Scenarios that accompany the rules you're pushing.

Actually, believe it or not, it was a tough call to vote. I feel as though your game is a great game to make up scenarios for. I've made up several of my own, but not written them up. Just thrown different force mixes together. Because it's so easy to make up a mission, I wouldn't mind seeing the new force on force rules, simply because I feel like the poor insurgents always get splattered.

A campaign system wouldn't go amiss either, some way to start with barely trained troops and guide them through a series of missions and (hopefully) watch them get better and better as they play. Just some thoughts.

I personally don't feel that your game has tapped out the Iraq theater yet, but I see no reason not to expand the game out into different parts of the world.

And last but not least, as I look around at the models and terrain available at (American) hobby shops, most of which is predominantly small-town America (go figure), why not a Red Dawn scenario pack?

MJ

I voted either one. Different eras like Cold War, 'Nam, etc would be good. But I think there's also merit to some what ifs, such as Red Dawn, Zombies, etc. That way there's something for everyone. Since some movies may not warrant a whole book of their own...consider a "The Movies!" supplement

Since you do want our input: I understand a good solid core rules set is bound to be expanded on, but I do dislike tossing out all the add on rules in supplements. If it takes off and gets real big, at least stick 'em all in a compenduim.

For now though, after Day of the Ranger, do fill out Iraq, Fallujah and Afghanistan before moving on.

I vote for scenarios, half the joy of AA is the quick set up and play. Having to spend hours beforehand making up a good scenario, detailing the forces and special events/cards etc takes away a big part of this benefit.

More scenarios (real or ficticious) especially of the "linked scenario campaign" format.

Another vote for scenarios - I'm quite happy with the rules as they are, but more scenarios never go astray! Regarding rules expansions, I too, reckon it would be nice to get them all together, rather than broken up across multiple books.

Having run through most of the scenarios in the original book, I like the sound of new scenario packs. Expansion games (or new rules) aren't quite as interesting an offering.

Well, it's looking like the scenario pack is the clear winner so far.

How does this sound:

Future Ambush Alley releases will take the form of scenario packs with any new "theater specific" rules included. For those interested in the rules but not the scenario packs, small "rules only" expansion packs will be available at a lesser price.

Let's say, for instance, a scenario pack of 10+ scenarios, overall background for the setting, related ORBATs, and any special rules might sell for $15. The rules only supplement, minus the scenarios, ORBATs and background, might sell for $5. Bundle deals would probably apply, too. We could also consider an end of the year "annual" that included all new rules produced during the year in one release.

How does that sound?

I would go for that it is a great idea i have loads of supplement books lying around i bought just for a few pages of rule updates. Ay chance of a scenario pack for lebanon or other Arab/IDF conflicts.

Very good idea there...I've always liked annuals. Way to keep current and keep it in one place too...A good spot for errata/ FAQ too XD

Sounds good - I particularly like the generous number of scenarios. Looking forward to the first one!
