I based the following game on Capt Jim's Show me the Mullah scenario but with a few changes, largely due to the lack of Blackhawks in my collection at the moment.
I also decreased the size of the US forces involved, any way on to the AAR.

It's 1996 and US forces are conducting peace keeping operations in the small African Country of Balukumba.
Intel has provided confirmation of the infamous Warlord Abdul al Farsi.
Image
The 511th Air Assault battalion are tasked with his capture.
US Force are as follows.
Two Delta fire teams to fast rope from the Blackhawk
a veteran sniper team mounted in the Blackhawk
one veteran squad mounted in two Hummers.

Militia Force's
Warlord Al Farsi and six bodyguards
two five man sentry teams in the compound
one four man sentry team near the outbuilding
one HMG team on the roof on the compound
two civilian groups in the compound
one civilian group near the out building

The following are some shots from a UAV overflight prior to the battle Image
Image
Image

Intel has noted the use of camouflage to hide the HMG position.
The following are shot from the UAV as the battle unfolded.
Image
The Delta teams fastrope from the hovering Blackhawk, meanwhile the Militia HMG team fail their quality check to engage the Blackhawk.

Image
Image
The Hummers scream past the outbuilding only to be engaged by small arms fire, the second Humvee is hit several times and fails all reliability checks causing it to crash and one Soldier is KIA.
Not the best start for the 511th.

Image
The two Delta fire team move up the western flank to engage the militia on the roof of the nearest building, only to be engaged by the militia first.
The militia fire is effective hitting one of the operators, lucky for him it is only a flesh wound.
both Delta team seem to be put off by the accurate fire from the militia as they cause no casualties in return.
Hmm things for the 511th could be difficult.
Image
US force's round the damage Humvee engage the militia on the roof of the outbuilding.

Image
Image
Image
The lead humvee pulls up to the compound wall and starts to engage militia force's within, several militia are killed in the onslaught of 50cal fire.

Image
The Blackhawk pulls across to the eastern flank and the sniper team fast rope out.
Meanwhile the Blackhawk engages the HMG team killing everyone on the gun.

Image
Image
Image
The Delta teams step up their game and shred the militia on the western flank with effective fire, the move into position on the courtyard.

Image
UAV overshot of the battle in progress.

Image
The warlord makes a break for it only for half his bodyguards to be taken out by the sniperteam.

Image
The Delta team give chase to the warlord, then fail their quality check to see if they enter close combat!!.

Image
Troops from the damaged humvee move up and attempt to close in with the warlord and his remaining guards, only for one of them to be shot as the attempt to get in to close combat, the ramaining troops fail there moral and head to cover, fortune smiles on the wounded trooper as it turns out to be a flesh wound.
Next turn they assault the warlord and his guards and capture all three.
now to get them to the blackhawk.
Image

Image
A successful roll on the militia reinforcement table brings on a sizeable militia force at one of the three hotspots.

Image
As US force move to secure the LZ a good roll on the militia reinforcement table brings on a sniper team, who move rapidly towards to compound.

Image
As the LZ is secured and the warlord is bundled on to the Blackhawk the militia sniperteam engage the remaining troops from the damaged humvee killing two of them., the D boys fold back to the Blackhawk pulling in the casualties. the remaining troops move in on the first humvee and exfil the warzone.

Final mission stats
511th Air Assault battalion 22pts
Militia 11pts

Thanks guys.
The US forces are all devil dog design
the Blackhawk is force of valor and the militia are a mixture of Mo-Fo (Gripping beast) and TAG with a couple of devil dog militia thrown in as well, but they didn't make the pic's

I like!

I'll tell ya, it kinda gives me a buzz to see other like-minded folk enjoy themselves playing one of the scenarios I developed (or at least one inspired by one!). Maybe I should find somebody to formally publish some for me  . Hmmm....

Great game, and great AAR. At least they got ol' Farsi.

Carry on!

Jim

That would be really cool, Jim! Maybe they'd buy you some ice cream, too! ;)

Nice AAR! Does the blackhawk come with all the detailing or did you add a blackwash?

Of course, in the "Giving credit where credit is due" Department, I didn't develop this one by all by myself. Leigh kinda helped, just a teensy bit....

The Blackhawk is like that straight out of the box, the only thing that I should have done is paint some of the interior.

Great AAR. Love the snatch and grab. Intense combat reporting! Great looking pics of figs and scenery. What scale is all of this? Looks like 28mm but did not realize FOV did anything but a 2omm 1:72nd scale blackhawk?

Thanks, it is 28mm, FOV do make a 1/48th blackhawk and an apache.
I think that the one I've got is out of production now, but they do do a nice UH60 pavehawk (a long range special forces variant of the blackhawk)
next game i'll try to get some shot of the apache.

very cool! I just picked up the Apache they did for 1/72 scale. They also have another 1/72 scale variant out for the blackhawk that is pretty cool. The thing is it is painted green with a tan top and tan in a few places. Not camo. I do not know if they use both green and brown in the actual scheme but the helo looks neat anyway.
