It doesn't look bad. I think the colors are pretty close, what did you use?

Vallejo gray-green for base...desert yellow for boots and bags...beige and green-gray for the camo dots. Black with a dark gray for the weapons and gloves.

Did you use a wash to get into the crevices?

No wash, Omar. I thought about it, but with tiny little dots of color over a gray-green base, I was concerned with darkening up the entire mini and ruining the camo effect. I do use washes on 15mm's, but it depends on what effect I'm trying to achieve.

Do you prime with a darker or lighter color?
Was looking for a way to do the digital camo, and I think this will be my guide.

Thanks, guys. In answer to the primer color, it was Army Painter Skeleton Bone, which goes on as a sort of beige/beige yellow color. We picked this initially because when washed with Games Workshop Gryphon Sepia wash, it gets darn close to the right base color for DCUs or armor. We simply drybrush an Iraqi sand over the top and voila! These miniatures got a base coat of Vallejo Gray-Green after priming.

Awesome! I will go pick up a can of the stuff (and the wash as well).
I am so OCD over making sure I have the 'right scheme' with my minis.. its a source of humor with the locals I play with.
How about the bases? I used a little white glue and some woodland senics fine ballast, but not sure how to paint them. Was even considering some 'dead grass' static grass, if I can find the stuff.

The bases are washers (same size as pennies) because I use magnetic sheets in my miniature storage boxes to hold my figures. We covered the bases in GW sand and then primered the figures. To get the ground effect, we simply washed the bases with a stronger wash of GW Gryphon Sepia wash...just didn't water it down as much. That's it. I will add small tufts of static grass soon (I tend to do static grass in big lots assembly-line style).

Cool, I think I have most of what I need.
So, prime with the Skeleton Bone, wash of Gryphonne Sepia, dots of various colors for the digital, details (skin, bags, equipment)?
I found a GW/Citadel flock for burned grass thats a nice dark brown, and GF9 has a sand colored flock, so mixed the two for some scrub looking flock. Will probably give that a try.
Thanks for the help, this is exactly the look I was going for and was trying to figure out how to paint them. Going to start with my contractors and an odd piece of DCU here and there, jeans and t-shirts mixed in. Army will be next.
