There are several Jerry Pournelle books thta may be of interest - all based on John Christian Falkenberg and the 42nd Codominium Marines. The Mercenary series is excellent and has several good battles that make good games.

Lots of good scenarios and a couple of possible campaigns in these books. Recommended.

I almost forgot - the WARWORLD series by Pournelle is set in the future of his Empire of Man based on the collapse of teh Codominium. This has a planet being bombed back into the Renaissance/Late Medieval period by the last survivors of a genetics enhanced rebellion of super soldiers called the Saurons. Think of it as TL3 vs TL1 and TL2. The TL2 comes from the small areas of tech that survive the assault. There's lots of good stuff here for multiple figure types.

Yep, Pournelle is good. You could also do later in the Co-Do around the time of The Mote in God's Eye. In fact, that book opens with the CoDo Marines beseiging a city. Go Tell the Spartans is another good one in the CoDo universe.
