hi all
we have finaly managed to get the terrain finnished for the clubs fof cold war demo game at salute.
we decided to remodel the existing club terrain and just repair, repaint, dry brush add some new features such as a german village as well as some new trees.
i took these shots without the forces on the table just after i finnished making approx 60+ trees from sea moss.
they make very effective trees but are quite fragile and will only be used for demo games as they are not striong enough for general use.

the terrain is 13ft long x 6ft wide.

i was quite pleased how the buildings came out, most are from byzantium, the smaller ones, added to some mdf and with some of s&s walls around them making gardens, the larger one is from kalibre 72, got from ebay, lovely building but too complex for gamers, so it has been simplified, with some model railway fencing around one side.

the water tower is an o gauge model railway one, slightly modified, it is wooden usa style type, with a sweet tin for a base, so it can come apart for transport, stuck to some mdf.
ususal mix of diescast cars tractors and trucks to give the impression of abandonment, to give it a 'modern' look i made this little scene:-

as we all complain about dug up roads nowadays dont we.
the game is between the french and russians in the mid 80's.
please come along for a chat, although sadly i will not be there myself, but other escapers will be.
more pics here on the picture site:-

Im really looking forward to your game at Salute, I've never played FOF so will be fervently following along in my book.
I hope you don't mind me picking your brain while I'm there? Just curious as to how many dice/what type and minimum numbers of miniatures required to play.

i will not be there personaly, but i am sure the rest of the club will be more than willing to answer any questions you may have.
the rules are designed for a lot less figures and terrain than we are using, so we have had to tweek them slightly, but the main rules are used as is.
there are still a few rules we are getting used to as always with any rules this complex.
thanks for the comments
just need to pack it all up tonight and get it ready for transport.
