It has been a while since i provided any update. Work/Family has been hectic to say the least! :)

I have finally had a chance and also the motivation to sit down and start working on some figures again. This time continuing with the long delayed Vietnam project. This range will be aiming a platoon level skirmish actions so from this angle i wont be doing a full coverage like some other companies. rest assured though there will be all the basic figures to fill out platoons etc that will cater for most. :)

I am planning on 10-15 figures per set initially. Australians, VC, NVA and Americans. The Australians will be around 10-15 figures to cover off a basic infantry section and probably a Pl HQ as well.

With the VC i will be doing a basic set of Main Force type with automatic weapons and local type with rifles and older SMGs. about 4-5 figures each. I will then have a 4-5 figure set with support weapons namely RPG, RPD and RPK and i even have an old Japanese LMG.

NVA will be a couple of AK packs one in Pith helmet and one with bush hat and then a support weapon pack and HQ Pack.

US Army will be 4-5 x M16's, an M79 pack, M60 Pack (1 x kneeling team and 1 x standing team) and a Pl HQ.

Anyway sounds like allot, but i have 70% of it done so hope i can keep the mojo flowing to finish these sooner rather than later.

VC with automatic weapons. Aimed as main force VC where bush Hats seem to be worn most with mix of AK's and SKS. Local VC will have the Rice hats that we all know. But either pack will internix as you want.

Australian Section. I like mainly patrolling type poses, which i hope is reflected in these guys. Also had a 77 set radio mastered to add some extra detail. I still have not finished the M79 figure though. While i am generally happy with the position of the M79, getting a decent position for the SLR is proving a real challenge! might have to change the whole figure.

Heaps of other figures done or almost done, but these guys are the current WIP.

Also below a couple more modern IDF with Tavor.

Comments and suggestions are certainly welcome. :)

Looking forward to the Vietnam figs...definitely!

However, I'm VERY MUCH intrigued by the modern IDF? PLEASE include M4's with UGL (or GTAR21) and a Negev type SAW weapon!!!!! :D

Looks very cool!

Hey Brian

I definitely have the Negev.

I was planning Tavor to start then maybe M4's.

I have been unsure exactly how much interest there is out there for modern IDF??

I will look at the composition though and see what i can do.

Mathew

Very Cool!

I've been interested in Modern IDF forces for a while now, but not until the recent releases by Caesar and Orion did my interest really sky rocket...

Also, what about a MINIMI...or is that pretty much what the Negev is for now? Wikipedia doesn't show (that I can see) a MINIMI in their equipment list...

Thanks! Look forward to seeing what you do with this line!
Brian

Great work on the Aussies and VC Matt!

Love the Digger with the SLR on patrol with the scrim around his neck.

The poses are taking me back to my time in the service (not long after the SLR was phased out for the AUSTEYR.

Keep up the great work :D

Cheers,

Allan

Thanks mate.

I consider myself lucky in some ways, i joined when the SLR was still in and some of the "old" practices as well.

Joining 5/7 we were the last battalion i think to get the Steyr, Loved my SLR though with the old Triangular fore stock. Only one in the company at the time i think. :)

A couple more pics of the Vietnam Era Australians.

I am looking at a pack of 5 riflemen. That should give plenty of scope to do a full section if you wish and also Pl HQ extras.

I will be doing a pack with 2 x M79 and 2 x Radio Ops which will add some variety for sections and also Pl HQ.

I am also planning pack of 3-4 M16 armed for scouts, section and pl commander. Guy on left one such example inspecting map. Last pack will look to be 3 x M60 gunners, 1 each standing, kneeling and prone.

again i welcome any suggestions as i want to get them right, in particular with equipment as most of my pics show they did not carry too much hanging off webbing. Seems scrim/sweat rag and Ammo belts wrapped in rubber for carriage.
