Hi

further to my last post, I've received the book, which has given rise to yet more questions!!

The scenario 'The Q Truck' [p27] lists the US forces required - are they regular army or Marines? If Marines, then I presume they'll be using Marine Humvees?
The scenario 'Rawhide' [p24] labels it as a US ARMY mission & specifies 'rifle squad' so I presume these are regualr army, not Marines - correct?

Does it actually matter, i.e. do the regular army weapons or uniforms differ to those of the Marines?

Before I order any figures I just want to make sure I get the ones that will be most useful, in most scenarios!

Do we use the standard Fog of War cards & add the DOTR ones to it, or just use the DOTR ones in the book?

cheers,
Dave

Both scenarios revolve around the work of Task Force 2-87th Infantry, part of the Army's 10th Mountain Division.

Until the introduction of the MARPAT uniform in 2002, the US Army and USMC used the same camoflage patterns, even if their uniforms and gear weren't exactly the same. At scale for the 1990s time-frame I would imagine that figures should be interchangeable between the 2. Weapons at that time should have been roughly the same too, so you should be okay on that front too.

Hi,

I participate in this discussion because I think my questions fit for the topic. I'm a little confused about two scenarios from DotR.

In the scenario "Closing up Shop" (page 47) are no hot spots marked on the map and there are no indication that the Somali players can place the hot spots at the beginning of the game (in directly following scenario "Fatal Error" the rule is extra mentioned in the special rules). How should we proceed here in the best way?

A similar problem I have in the scenario "Darkest before the Dawn" (page 79). On the map are two entry edges marked for the Somali Player. But there are no special rules how to use them or whether to place additional hot spots. What kind of solution would be the best way to solve this problem?

Thx for the clarification.

Greetz
