I am looking for some good trees suitable for 20mm scale battles in Afghanistan and have seen some lovely ones here that look the right sort of shape based on my numerous viewings of Afghan footage on you tube.

However, I am not sure if they are the correct height for 20mm scale. These are 3-4 inches high. How high are the trees you use for 20mm scale FoF?

Surely trees can be any size... They grow to all shapes and sizes in reality.

I use all manner of sizes, different heights from 20mm right up to 300mm, plus loads of different shaps for 20mm.

After all real trees grow in various sizes...

Thanks. I did some working out based on a scale of 20mm = 3/4 inch (approx.) and can see that those Bachmann trees are about 4 or 5 times the height of a 20mm figure. That seems workable to me, without them being so tall that they dominate the scene.

Cheers for your input. I think I will consider 3-4 inches as good enough for my table . 12 inches (300mm) would be way too tall for me - even though I'm sure there are trees that tall just by looking out of my window.

Hi,

Looks like you found a happy medium.
I was going to suggest that 20mm is roughly 1/72 which is roughly HO scale in model trains.

I purchased a bag of plastic tree's and glued the foliage on for my games. It looked good at the beginning but a few travels later they are in need of repair.

Faller makes a great pack of 15 trees that are perfect: http://faller.de/App/WebObjects/XSeMIPS ... iert.html#

My favourite trees for use in wargaming!
