Hi all,
As piers and I are playing a HUGE nam game as part of an public Art exhibition, I thought I better take this opportunity to use the last sets of palm trees I had bought for my Pacific scenery.
The base was some special 3mm light weight (plasticard type stuff) advertising material I got from a friend. This instead of hardboard in my previous similar Terrain pieces.
It's easier and faster to cut & carve edges, it's easier to drill holes and stick the trees and bushes in.
It's also staying flat, unlike the hardboard which warps with the change in humidity in the air (I see it all the time at the club between winter and summer).
The grass is simple static grass glued with PVA watered down for easy application.
The trees themselves are from Realistic Wargames. Rather inexpensive, I used 2 servings on trees in those displayed here. Note that the little bushes are not from realistic wargames, only the palm trees.
So here are some pictures of the small trees on washers. I call them single based trees.
20 made which more than doubles the overall count for the pacific/nam scenery at GMG Club.
Here are the large trees on large bases. This increases the large bases count for the pacific/nam scenery at GMG club by 50%.
Base 1
Base 2
Base 3
Base 4
It's going to used a lot!

Very nicely done!
I'm going to have to find a US company that makes palm trees that are as nice as these - if possible!

The cake decorations company SugarCraft sells palm trees that look exactly like those.

Nicely done, were the bushes plants for a fish tank? They fit in very well with the trees.

The plants are part of square sections of very cheap synthetic grass matts (if this makes sense).

I didn't know about that web site in the UK.
I have been using ebay to pick up my plants. Looking for some plastic plants for lizards and long grass to add a bit of variety to the jungle terrain I have made. I used CDs and hex squares for the bases.
My palms trees are from Pegasus Hobbies

Took the plunge and just bought the palm trees from Realistic Wargames.
Hopefully that will complete the jungle
Probably not but they will add to the 22 CD bases and about 30 hex based jungle plants that I have already. I need more as well.
After that there is the long grass I hope to add soon. Buildings too.
Finally I might paint some Vietnam figures

Nah mate - don't reckon you'll need to with that amount of jungle terrain - you'll never find them

Nice work, CYC!
How'd you do the sandy part of the bases? Is that just painted over sand?
