The Marines have landed and situation is well in hand. Peter Pigs, care of Brookhurst Hobbies, arrived today. Will take a couple of days to prep, paint, etc.
Things are moving along.

and primed.
For my MARPAT, I will be going with a base of Testors Model Masters Afrika Dunkelgrau, and working in some Dark Earth splotches as well a a little Marine Green. We'll see how that works out.

About 18 of the Marines have the first coat of Afrika Dunkelgrau. Looks a shade dark. I plan on dry brushing the dark earth on the uniforms. Flat black weapons. I have another color whose name escapes me that will be used for LBE/deuce gear.

A T/O Squad is completed as far as paint goes. One glitch is that I have one less M203 gunner and one extra SAW gunner, no problem as there are enough of everything to go around and it will be replced as more are painted.
The dry brush dark earth did not do exactly what I expected, but at 15mm I think that they look ok. Need to mount on penny bases and flock them.
Needed a squad to get going with the game again.
Photos to follow, perhaps tomorrow.

Squadleader given direction to one of his fireteam leaders.
Units moving up
Teamleader barks out orders!
paperterrain.com's North Africa/Middle Eastern Building #1
Marines behind parapet on the rooftop of Building #1
Building need work, more intricate at 15mm than 6mm. Grunts look, ok, not great but workable. Insurgents next up - and more buildings.

Very cool stuff...
I've been thinking about getting the paper terrain buildings...what do you think of them?
Thanks!

I've been very happy with the 6mm buildings and the customer service. Building #1 mentioned above is the first of my 15mm. As the first it took a little more attention to detail on my part.
All in all, I'd recommend them.

Stumbled through Target today at lunch and found a 1/72 scale M2A2 Bradley from Forces of Valor. $7.99, but no assembly or painting etc. so call it about even.
Bradley appeared as the QRF during a couple of the Marine firefights in No True Glory
Also two matchbox vehicles, a small tank truck - I'll paint up like a water truck that I saw over there in 1991,
and a pick-up truck I'll try to paint up as a blue and white Iraqi Police truck that the insurgents have captured (most likely). See gunner in the bed.

Pretty well. I placed the Peter Pig 15mm on the deck of the Brad so that you could see the comparison to the Bradley commander. Pretty close.
As far as how a 15mm standing next to it looks, it seems a bit big. I believe that the top of an average sized man's head should be about at the deck of the Bradley. I rushed those pics last night, I'll see what I can do to give an up close Pig and Brad photo.
Bottom line, I think it looks good on the table.

Picked up a Forces of Valor M-113 Gavin (gun shielded 50 Cal with gunner figure). It looks good with the other stuff. Pics to follow. It came up in my quest for either an AAV-P7 or LAV-25. No joy on that front.

Here are some new acquisitions.
M-113 Gavin (Forces of Valor 1:72) with 15mm Peter Pig Marines
M-113 gunner
Dragon 1:72 assembled M1114 w/Mk19 model
M1114 with Peter Pig 15mm Marines. An unshielded Mk-19 armed HMMWV was my home for most of 1991.
Definitely some painting in order. Wanted to post them now so there is something to look at.
