Scratchbuilt Afghan Bazaar - inspired by the wonderful watercolours of British soldier/war artist Matthew Cook.

Amazingly good stuff.

I love Mathew Cook's watercolors, btw. He's got an amazing eye for color and detail.

Wow!

Great stuff!

Did you scratch-build the wagons/trailers too?

Very true - his artist eye is a model makers friend too as he inculdes in his watercolours just what 'we' need to see. Exceptional - anyone with an interest in the conflict in A'stan should see his work.

As to the model. Carts and wagons built from scrap balsa and wheels from the spares box. Rugs and trade goods from green stuff. Market stalls are 'Wills' model railway kits.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Can't wait to paint my own bazaar. I will have to modify it for the use in an Iraqi setting. Consider your colour scheme as shamelessly stolen. :P
