Does Shaun already do a Stryker?
If so it really won't be too hard for him to pull together a gun for it.

I remember seeing a really nice scratch of one of these over at the Guild.

Don't want to sound like a smart-a$$ but there is a conversion kit out there on the market.

There are a dozen and more vehicles that don't even exist in 20mm and Shaun is the only one I can think off that can create them (and has successfully done so in the past).

I'd rather have him creating something that didn't exist before in our scale, than having him waste time on somthing that you just won't pay for.

Of course that's absolutely Shaun's descision. But that's how I feel about requests like that. See, there is no BMP-3 out there for example and I have to wait until its done.

Given the current rate of exchange and the fact that the Styker plastic kit comes with the conversion set I don't think ~50US$ are that expensive.

50$ are about 37Ä. Given the price for the Academy model kit over here in GER (~12Ä) that leaves me with 25 bugs for the conversion kit. The kit itself is almost half the Stryker (upper hull complete in resin + gun mount and turret). No, I honestly think that's a fair price.

thanks for the suugestion of a mgs stryker, i may be able to do a conversion, that would that be better for me and like chris says, there are more pressing models i need to finnish sooner, it would be easier for me and is not going to cost you an arm and a leg to buy, i do have an academy stryker, is it that different than the trumpeter one?
can anyone post pics of the 2 models side by side?

it would be a good idea for shaun i would say as for the conversion kit its £23.00 then you need to buy the academy stryker kit on top and thats roughty £10.00 .. for shaun to do at least half that cost great for us and shaun ! .. now could he do some others of it too ! .. the stryker AT ,recce etc ..

The conversion kit from that Korean supplier already has the kit included.

Whereever I saw that kit on ebay it came with the Academy kit. Might well be some have sold it without the kit - but if that's the case it should be cheaper respectively

you chaps realy like to keep me busy dont you!
i have looked at all of the books i have on the stryker and i have concluded that a conversion is so much work that a whole vehicle would be easier and better then i could do a whole family of strykers and maybe as its based on the lav 3, then the nz and canadian lav's could be done as well.
the only thing is, i normaly work to 1/76, and as some of you have already bought the academy or trumpeter models, would i need to make them 1/72 and compatable with these.
your thoughts please on the family and sizing issue, as you never know what may happen in the next few months.
yesterday i built a brand new 1/76 modern british tracked vehicle for a fellow club member, who was having dificulty getting one anywhere else, it will be seen for the first time at the exeter show in may.
so as you can see i must be the fastest master builder in the world!

As far as Strykers go, my intention is to build a Stryker Company...Will I ever field the entire company on a board? Probably not. Why then do I want to build a Stryker company? Because I can if I would not have to pay $50.00 a pop for each one AND go through the time of actually building a model with LOTS of pieces. Plus it sounds like it will open the door for Shaun to produce a lot of other vehicles quickly from the base model that are also not currently available.

But then it wouldn't be in scale with any of his other kits...
Strikes me as a bit of a silly business decision to start jumping scales.

I don't think it will make that big of a difference 1/72 or 1/76. I have models of both scales on my board at times. They might not look right against my 1/72 scale ones if they are 1/76 but I can always keep the others separated on the board if needed. I would prefer 1/72 but if they must be 1/76 I can live with that.

Doing some quick calculations the difference would be 5mm in length and 2mm in height between the two.
