Back in 2009, I took part in the 24 hour Crossfire game.
http://www.lloydianaspects.co.uk/wargam ... /WCFD.html
I'm the Chinese person on the left.
A large number of games were played from Australia to Malaysia to Hong Kong to Europe to America, the scenarios affected each other
(Our American player decided he didn't need Armour Support so it was used in another game and apparently turned the tide. My CinC escaped the American/ British Paratrooper offensive, escaping with most of his company and tanks only to be gunned down by Partisans down the road.)
So here's to sound everyone out, it will be great publicity for AAG, especially if we time it to coincide with the launch of Force on Force.
How many people will be interested in this?
If you say yes, can you please indicate the following:
Are you looking to be a participant, game organiser or regional commander* [*See below]
What armies do you have or have access to(Post-WW2 toys)?
How many figures and tanks are we talking about? [Please don't be shy, if you only have two squads or platoons, you can still take part in a vital game changing flanking maneuver!]
Have I missed anything?
Force on Force comes out in April, I have exams in May, so realistically it will be Summer when it kicks off, when is a good time for it?
================================
Regional Commander:
The guy who ran it, as far as we could tell, almost went mad from doing it all by himself and didn't sleep over that weekend. (He was sending us e-mails at all hours over the weekend.)
I don't want to do that, so we will need different people in different time zones co-ordinating with each other and keeping up with how results and games will affect the scenario. I'm in Asia and am well placed to co-ordinate this side will be able to work with the Organiser in Europe, one of two people in Europe may want to work together and co-ordinate with the people in the Americas.
==================================
After that, the next step will be writing and designing scenarios depending on the number of participants.

Great idea - I'm up for it.
Probably as Game Organiser, but I'm happy to write scenarios too.
Should be able to do Vietnam but my main area at the moment is British (Reinforced Platoon with some vehicles) & Taliban (Lots) in Afghanistan.

I'll bet we can come up with some special forum titles for those who participate!

As it progresses and develops, would it be possible to have our own Forum section?
Just for the sake of organisation and having everything in one place, and publicity...
As it currently stands, it looks like it'll be Coalition forces against the Taliban & Foreign fighters in Afghanistan as most people seem to have these forces available. But please keep them coming!

This is a great idea and I'm in if at all possible. At the moment I just have a multiple of Brits with some vehicles and the requisite middle eastern insurgents, but can have that up to at least a full platoon with a little armour and choppers by the time you're talking about. I'm in 15mm so that might keep me from joining in with Piers and Donogh, but I could round up some folks hereabouts.
Edit: Sorry, got too excited to answer any questions usefully. I could be either a player or game organiser, and would be playing Ambush Alley style rather than symmetrical Force on Force.

Could I solo this like a sad friendless fool? I could coerce someone into playing with me but it'd be easier if I could run a solo game.
Currently got a USMC squad painted with a couple of hmmwv's and a Bradley in support (got a littlebird on the worktable and hoping for a stryker soon), insurgents/afghans/terrorists wise I've got a load + a couple of technicals.

Well I only have enough Taliban for one...
Of course if it was Vietnam, well then we could do the whole 20ft table thing and have the commander in another room on an intercom controlling his troops...
