Just got the new FOF Road to Baghdad and I just notice that over half of the scenarios utililize an USMC AAVTP-7. I've been looking for one of these guys in 28mm for quite some time and have not had much luck.

I have the older LVTP from S&S models but its still not the AAVTP.
HAD has a very nice looking one on their site but I have not had any success ordering from them.
Propaganda Kompany has one in 1/48 which is fine but I'm not sure if i want to spend over $100 (or is it $200?) for it. I guess my point is moot as
PK does not make it anymore.
I know that there are diecast models out there but there either too big (1/32) or too small (1/72).

The one company that I feel could produce a quality AAVTP-7 would be Imprint Models. I have a few of their models and can say that they are the best. Imprints' resin kits are easy to built, scale nicely with 28mm, and are nicely detailed also.

Are there any manufacturer out there that I've overlook?

Otherwise, I would like fellow members to sound out for manufacturers to produce a 28mm AAVTP. I will purchase 3 as the scenario dictates between 1-3 of them. I know that a 28mm AAVTP would have to be huge and so am willing to pay for it as long its not over $70 usd each. At over $70, I would still probably buy it but then I'll use paper cut outs for minis . .

Maybe we should make a "push" (putsch?) on Imprint and/or S&S for one.

Personally, I'd prefer Imprint...b/c he does 1/50 scale and I use "heroic" 28mm figures...but S&S makes really nice stuff too (AND has a 15+ club).

I'd also commit to 3 of them (possibly 6 if I wanted to do 3 in woodland and 3 in desert).

BTW, this I'd do this even though I have several of the ones from HAD. These are good enough for games...but are kinda "clunky".

Hi Jim,

I've already notified Imprint and am hoping to get a headcount on how many of us are interested in placing a order.
If anybody else is interested please sound out and I will bring the result to Imprint.

Ok that makes 7 models so far.
Keep it coming guys and hopefully I will finally get my 28mm AAVTP.
Jim Keats, do you have a picture of your HAD amtrack?

Count me in. I did email Bob Winward at Imprint a year ago if he would do an AAVP after he was done with the Stryker. He told me then it was a possibility that that might be his next model, but so is a technial or even some improvements for existing models such as a gun shield for the humvees.

Hi TJX,

That's great news. So I guess that would be 8 models so far.
I've inquire about the general pricing for such a kit but have not gotten a reply yet.

Could also enquire with Jeff at JTFM. He is presently working on a stryker variant for Co-B.
His work is fantasticly detailed.

Count me in for one. Just busy painting the new Imprint Stryker at the moment, lovely model, very crisp detail. Very tempted to do a Stryker platoon now the MGS is available :D Had a recent e-mail from Bob, looks like an armoured turret for the HUMVEE could be next.

No pix of the "HAD" one( s ) that I have...b/c their still "primer gray".

I have three of the Strykers that are very high on my "to do" list. I'm just finishing up some Vikings for a club project. Then it's a toss up between vehicles or my "Rhodesia Bush War" figs from Eureka. I have a LOT of vehicles piled up in my "to paint" area.

I have two of the HAD AAV-7s they are without a doubt copies of the Propaganda Kompany kit. They fit really well with my Devil Dog Design and JC figures. The S&S AAV-7 is the early 80's model with just the .50 cal in the turret. That model is super nice but small my US Marines from the long gone Mongrel miniatures fit next to it.

Mongrel is back...I saw someone at Cold Wars selling them. I forget the name of the company. Once I dig it up...I'll post it.

Still the S&S, while very nice, are too small for my 28mm figures. :(

The mongrel figures are now sold by a company called Newline Designs, I believe that's what you're thinking of - http://newlinedesigns.co.uk/ And it looks liek they've recently had a massive restock of soviet regulars. :D

Newline are the UK distributor as far as I am aware;
