Once a unit of insurgents/irregulars becomes shaken .. the rulebook mentions that they must spend a turn recovering the will to fight. I'm not sure my assumption is correct .... this is my assumption:

lets assume that an irregular unit with Morale D8, is shaken .. its Morale drops one die to D6 and they 'spend a turn recovering' .. does this then mean that their morale is back to D8 after spending that turn recovering?

Given if that is the case ... the only way an irregular unit can be 'removed' due to being shaken and dropping below D6 Morale, is from receiving multiple rounds of fire in a single turn ... right?

(Irregular) units whose moral is reduced below a D6 are broken and are remeved from play.

That doesn't answer his question though.

Nice catch Charlie Dog. :?

To answer the second part of the question. Yes as they recover the die goes back up.

Sorry about that drop on answering both questions in the OP.

I hope Shawn or someone pops up on this thread. My understanding was that the morale penalty stays for the remainder of the game.

It would make sense ... otherwise, as mentioned in my OP, it would be incredibly difficult to 'break' an irregular fireteam due to 'shaken' results.

No - Shaken troops MUST spend a turn regrouping but do NOT regain their unshaken status. They remain Shaken-1 until shaken again, then go to shaken-2 etc. until morale falls below 6 and they are removed.
The only way to unshake them is to wait until they are at or below 50% and then to merge them with an unshaken unit also reduced to or below 50% that has more men than the shaken unit. The smaller shaken unit upon merging obtains the status (unshaken) of the larger unit.

Sorry guys, I was out of pocket most of this weekend and missed this till now.

Page 17 states:

Quote:
Irregular units who fail a Morale Check become
Shaken. They must move away from the enemy and their
Morale suffers a permanent negative die shift.
If their
Morale is reduced below D6, they are no longer fit for
combat and are removed from play.

They only thing they "recover" the following turn is the nerve to poke their nose out where it might get bloodied again. ;)

No worries!

Besides, it's like anything else - if you think they SHOULD be able to recover, play it that way. Our Canon Enforcement Teams are far too busy watching re-runs of Firefly to chase you down. ;)

Well who would have guessed my wife was right and all these years she has been telling me how wrong I am that she would be right.

I apologize for the miss.

Thanks Tom for picking the ball up and getting the correct answer out on this one.
